Testimonials about
Golf In The Moment
Scott Dixon (scottdixon.co.uk)
PGA Head Professional, Marriott Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club, Edinburgh, Scotland writes,
"After playing golf for over 15 years I had come to a stage where I was always trying to change the way I was thinking on the golf course. I had learned many techniques through attending golf psychology courses and found it was a full-time job to make even the smallest change.
"Golf In The Moment has taught me that it is perfectly ok to be thinking what I am thinking and it has helped me choose where I send my attention. You can imagine this can be of huge importance when standing over a golf ball with all those usual stories going through your head.
"Mahadeva is inspirational and fun to be around. Golf in the moment is something everyone should experience.
"Golf and life for me will never be the same again."
Adrian Peters
Cheltenham, England writes,
"Where does my concentration go when I am swinging the club? Despite knowing that I should be immersed in the club head, the honest answer is 'all over the place'. My wife is used to me making some fairly unusual golfing comments, but when I told her I was off to see a golfing monk, she giggled.
"Shortly afterwards, I found myself sitting with a cup of coffee meeting Mahadeva watching the rain lash on the club house windows. What followed was one of the most enjoyable and beneficial (if extremely wet) 2 hours I have ever spent on a golf course.
"The secret, if there is one, is to be able to let your thoughts flow but remain focused in the moment - I knew that before I met Mahadeva, what I did not know was how to achieve this. Very cleverly over 5 or 6 holes, Mahadeva showed me how I might achieve this - it is not simple and requires effort and application, but it is worth it.
"I now savour and enjoy playing golf. Ultimately I am not going on the tour, but I do want to enjoy my life and the things I fill it with. Golf In The Moment has helped me to do that."
Scott Young
Cardenden, Fife, Scotland writes,
"I had a great round of golf at Pitreavie, Dunfermline, yesterday, and a really profound experience of 'golf in the moment.'
"My play had been reasonably good until the 14th, where my tee shot swerved out to the right, on this par 4 of 368 yards.
"After reaching my ball which had travelled a little over 200 yards, I realised that I had a tight line into the pin, which was on the right hand side of the green, with a bunker protecting it, at the front right hand side.
"'I'll have to play safe, and hope to get the ball onto the left hand side of the green, where there's plenty of space....... Don't want to take a risk of going for the pin, as I'll probably end up in the sand.....'
"It sounded such a calm and sensible piece of inner guidance..... I had a 7 iron in my hand, and as I placed it behind my ball, I used an Ishayas' Ascension technique in my mind, in order to clear it for the shot.......
"'Go for the pin...... That's what the game is all about.....'
"There was a sense of knowing and stillness that came over me, as I recognised this voice as being my true guide.....
"The swing was smooth and effortless, and the connection with the ball was perfect. The line of flight looked perfect as it flew through the sky, and there was a knowing that the ball would go close to the pin.
"150 or so yards later, the ball landed in front of the green, and rolled towards the pin.... It all seemed to happen in slow motion, and I looked at Steven, my playing partner, as I heard the ball striking the pin...... We both knew that it had dropped into the hole.....
"It was a beautiful experience of recognising the Ascendant, and surrendering to it, in the full knowledge that the path ahead is already clear, and laid out before us, as well as once again becoming aware of the subtle imitators in the mind, which always ask us to choose for limitation....
"From now on, I'll always be aiming for the pin......."
